As We Saw It is one of the longest-running travel websites on the Internet, and we have a passion for detailed guides, thoughtfully crafted itineraries, practical tips, and local insights from places around the world.
If you're a travel enthusiast eager to share your experiences and expertise, we invite you to contribute. Our goal is to offer readers more than just a guide to destinations—we want to bring them closer to the culture, history, and unique adventures that make each place special. Let’s collaborate and create something that not only informs but also inspires.
Please note: Due to staffing limitations, we are only able to offer free guest post opportunities to travel bloggers with personal travel blogs. We do offer sponsored posts and link insertions, however, please note that our blog focuses exclusively on travel content, and we only accept submissions within that area.
Topic Ideas
While we cover a broad range of destinations, we are particularly interested publishing articles about the USA, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Bali, Greece, and Panama. These countries resonate most with our audience. That said, if you’ve got something exciting to share from elsewhere, we’d love to hear about it!
Our most popular articles contain travel tips, historical info, and cultural insights. We especially enjoy visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites, so feel free to mention any that are nearby.
Content Guidelines
AI Content Policy: We value authentic, human-driven travel experiences and insights. While we understand that AI can assist with some aspects of writing, all content must be original, fact-checked, and genuinely helpful to our readers. AI-generated content is not acceptable unless it’s heavily edited and fact-checked for accuracy and usefulness.
For Travel Bloggers Running Their Own Sites: If you're a travel blogger with your own site, we have special guidelines. Please contact us directly to discuss how we can collaborate.
Please follow these guidelines below before submitting your work.
- All article content must be original. It must not appear anywhere else on the internet now, nor be republished elsewhere in the future without our consent.
- AI-generated content must be fact-checked. Ensure that it offers unique and extremely helpful information.
- Use American English for spelling, terms, and phrases.
- Second-person (“you” and “your”) preferred.
- Conversational tone.
- 2-3 sentences per paragraph. (Readers skim; they don't read.)
- Include 2-3 external links to relevant websites, if appropriate.
- Proofread the article before submission.
- Please link to relevant articles on our website, if available.
- Include helpful, high-authority, related links when possible—tourist bureaus, ticket companies, resources, etc.
- If you are including photos, do not include photo credits in the word count.
- Include a conclusion. The goal is to encourage the reader, not summarize what you already said.
We may edit or add other links or additional content. If this is an issue, please let us know immediately.
ⓘ If you write about food, that’s fantastic! As travelers, we want to encourage people to try new foods and sample local beverages. But PLEASE DO NOT recommend any foods containing pork, seafood, shellfish, rodents, bugs, or other such things. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask.
Formatting guidelines
- Paragraphs should be no more than 2-3 sentences each.
- Do not Bold subheads.
- Do not increase font size for subheads. Use <h2> instead. (That’s the Heading 2 style in Word.) Of course, you can use <H3> when appropriate.
- Subheads in sentence case (upper case first letter only).
- Bulleted lists – #LOVE
- Remove any style codes, like <span>.

💡 IMPORTANT: Using unlicensed images violates copyright law and may lead to legal consequences. Please ensure all images are properly licensed. In the event we find an image that is not properly credited or licensed, we will remove both the image and your backlink and may be forced to take legal action to protect our site and interests.
Article submission
We accept articles in Word or Google Drive formats.
- Word Documents: Please email your article and any accompanying photos to [email protected].
- Google Drive: Share a Google Drive folder containing your article and any accompanying photos.
Photo Submission: Submit photos separately from the article text as individual files. Do not embed photos within the document. Ideally, include all photos in a single ZIP file to help with organization. Please keyword the photo titles to facilitate proper tagging and categorization.
